For Staff

Weather policy

At times, emergencies such as severe weather, fires, or power failures can disrupt company operations.  In extreme cases, these circumstances may require the closing of the facility.  For inclement weather, the Executive Director or designated individual will make the decision whether or not to close the facility by 6:30 a.m. as of the next scheduled work day.  Watch Channel 9 (Cox 10) to view OCHS posting for scheduled opening time frame or partial and/or complete closure – look specifically for “Oklahoma Community Health Services”.

When operations are officially closed due to emergency conditions, the time off from scheduled work will be paid.

Emergency closings due to inclement weather such as snow, ice storms, or facility power failures will be considered as paid snow days.  The decision for the amount of approved snow days per year is at the discretion of the Executive Director or appointed representative.

If the center is open and an employee is unable to report to work due to inclement weather or power failure, the employee will be required to call in to their supervisor to advise them of their absence at the start of their scheduled work day.  The employee must use their PTO leave to cover the hours absent.  If all PTO time accrued has been exhausted, then the excused day will be unpaid leave.
